The sheer scale and scope of what is on offer at Coryton, along with our commitment to invest in training, has enabled us to create an environment for development that is fully supported by respected and experienced technical experts.
The established and fully accredited graduate programme is designed to give you an invaluable opportunity to utilise the knowledge gained at university and develop your competencies in a professional environment. You will be working on real issues and benefit from the vast pool of knowledge available to you.
The programme has opportunities for:
Support & Development
Support is provided right from the start. On joining Coryton you will be assigned an experienced mentor to support your professional development and personal growth. You will receive a structured induction schedule to help you settle into your first role quickly, which includes an annual Graduate Away Day in order to network with fellow graduates and members of the leadership team.
To help you achieve chartered engineer status, our well structured graduate programmes are accredited by the IChemE, IMechE and IET. You will have regular meetings with your Team Leader on your performance and meetings with your mentor on your professional development. You will also have the opportunity to discuss and obtain advice on your career from senior members of the Refinery Management Team through the annual Graduate Development Panel.
As well as on-the-job training, we typically offer a minimum of 10 days technical training per year in addition to competency skills training. Our quarterly Graduate Forums enable you to share your ideas and provide feedback on improving the scheme. There are a number of projects to get involved in to make the scheme what you want it to be. Our graduates are 'part' of our Graduate Scheme, not 'on' it.
Long term prospects
Once you have completed the Graduate Development Programme you may have already decided the area in which you want to work or the field in which to specialise. Your continued development will remain a priority and by working with your mentor you can be in control of your career.
